October 2022: a month of cool events

October was very busy and very interesting for the B50 community.

Despite the autumn (often rainy and cold) weather, volunteers from the “B50 Reconstruction” direction continued to work in Moshchun:

  • cleared the rubble, installed the fences;
  • repaired windows and roofs (at the moment, such tasks are the most urgent, because we all feel the rapid approach of cold weather and the consequences of russians attacks and occupation;
  • prepared firewood for the winter, worked on smaller (but no less important) requests of the residents of the de-occupied territories.

In total, during the month, 229 B50 activists made 13 working trips to Kyiv region.

In October, “B50 Production” volunteers outdid themselves again!! During the month, 4,000 trench candles were made at the mini-candle factory, and they are already warming our soldiers. And over the entire period of work, more than 10,000 candles were produced!!!

In general, the direction is actively developing: the number of people willing to learn how to make trench candles is increasing (5 master classes were held in October – 4 “home” and 1 field), and materials for work come from the most diverse corners of the world: from Mykolaiv to Denmark. We are proud of our volunteers from the “B50 Production” department, as well as people who want and learn to make trench candles for our defenders!

In October, B50 volunteers from the “Training” direction conducted tactical medicine classes where they learned how to apply tourniquets. Such lessons have been held before and will be held in the future, because in our realities, the ability to provide pre-medical assistance becomes a vital necessity.

In October, B50 volunteers completed the “Kozachok” project! It took a little more than a month to transform a gray bomb shelter into a bright, cozy space for kindergarten children. Satisfied parents are already taking satisfied children to kindergarten, and we are glad that we were able to help children in such a difficult time 😊

During the month, B50 activists had other (no less important!) tasks: helping other volunteers, unloading humanitarian aid, visiting our defenders who are undergoing rehabilitation, helping the Animal Rescue Center, collecting funds for a modular house for a family from Moshchun, its purchase and installation, etc.

So, B50 had a lot of work to do in October. Despite the cold weather, we are not slowing down, we are developing (we will talk about new ideas and their implementation next time) and we are bringing the Victory closer 🙂
