Reconstruction/Shelters in Mykulychi: BEFORE and AFTER
We have recently completed the renovation of the Yalynka kindergarten in Mykulychi village, Kyiv region. Here you can follow the process of transforming a large hall and a bedroom into a children’s dreamland.

Над оновленням укриття працювати дві наші команди: волонтери проєктів Реконструкція та Сховки.
Two teams of volunteers from our Reconstruction and Shelters projects are working on the renovation of the bomb shelter.
Let’s take a closer look at the results of our volunteers’ work!
Great hall ‘Dreamland’
Here, the main task was to decorate a niche/zone for preschoolers in the large hall with a large mural to separate it from the rest of the hall, where older children are.
The volunteers of the Shelters project painted a mural by designer Vika on three walls, with a total length of 11 meters!
The Reconstruction team installed two doors and target radiators in the hall to improve the thermal efficiency of the shelter.

Bedroom ‘Country of dreams’
The second task was to turn a technical room used for storing things into a full-fledged bedroom where the kids can rest during prolonged air raids.
The Reconstruction team did an incredible job here: the room was cleaned, old things and a battery were purchased, new ventilation was installed, new lamps and doors were installed, and a heating battery was added. The walls and ceiling of the room were painted and the floor levelled.
After that, the volunteers of the Shelters project implemented the idea of designer Alina, creating a solid pattern around the perimeter of the room, which finally turned the room into a bedroom. The gradient pattern with clouds is made in delicate colours, soft and pleasant for preschoolers.
The final touch was the purchase of the necessary things for the new bedroom (beds, bedding, furniture and toys) thanks to the funds raised by ChangeX for our project.
