B50 community launches a P.AGE Project!
B50 is pleased to announce the start of a new project from the B50 Growing, which is dedicated to capacity development in de-occupied communities. The project is called P.AGE and aims to restore the potential of children of war from communities that have been occupied or affected by russian aggression.
Within the P.AGE Project B50 is going to provide children with high-quality educational literature in Ukrainian – a set of 50 books on science, development, history, leaders, money, arts, professions, adolescence, patriotism, etc.
The pilot phase of the project has already been in place and preparations for the regional phase are in full swing.
As part of the pilot, the B50 team recently visited Bohdanivka village, Kiev region (Brovary), where we had previously decorated a children’s shelter. We met with the children in the school library and handed over the first set of 50 educational books from popular Ukrainian publishers. The children were impressed by the quality and variety of the books and immediately took them home to read.
Lyudmyla Deyko, the principal of the Bohdanivka Lyceum, noted that local children love to read and the institution has been working on updating its library stock for the past year (until the Lyceum’s main building was blown up along with the library by the russian occupiers in spring 2022).
Many children were interested in non-curriculum books, such as information on emotional intelligence, soft skills and career guidance literature. So, thanks to the P.AGE, the children’s dream has come true: not only to read fiction according to the school programme, but also to search for themselves through the books provided.
Now B50 is moving on to the regional stage of the P.AGE Project. The community aims to buy 250 educational books for 5 libraries in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions.
We are raising 70,000 UAH to purchase educational publications, produce information materials and deliver these gifts to the libraries. You can support the project by making a donation to official project accounts – via Paypal (b50@b50.com.ua) or bank transfer.
Join us in restoring the potential of children of war. Every donation you make will mean at least one book for children in the whole community to read!
