About the project
We turn gloomy bomb shelters into a safe and comfortable space for the students, in particular we do:
- basic repair work in shelters;
- preparation and decorating of walls;
- painting with colorful drawings.
The Project Shelters activity is part of the global mission of our community – minimizing the impact of war and restoring de-occupied communities. The Shelters Project is part of the B50 Care Program.
History
It all started with “Kozachok” – a kindergarten in Bucha, which could not open without a well-equipped bomb shelter.
The management of the educational institution turned to the B50 community for help. Here volunteers have cleared the space of the old basement and decorated the walls with colorful drawings.Soon the kindergarten reopened, and we decided to continue working in this direction. After all, a cool team of volunteers gathered during the implementation of the project, and we liked helping children.
Now there are many applications from schools and kindergartens from the de-occupied communities, so we are working further.
